During the hands-on experience, Summer Fellows will benefit from professional development and networking opportunities as they develop as future public school educators.
DAILY SCHOOL OPERATIONS
Summer Fellows will work with school staff to develop an understanding of the daily operations of running a school.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Summer Fellows will develop classroom management and lesson planning skills for K-12 settings. Over the course of summer, Fellows will gradually take on more responsibility over the classroom.
STUDENT ENGAGEMENT
Summer Fellows will engage in culturally responsive education intensives to develop strategies for engaging with students and families.
NETWORKING
Throughout summer, Fellows will meet and network with guest speakers, current educators, NYC Department of Education staff, and other like-minded individuals!
FACILITATED PEER SUPPORT
With the support of their peers, Fellows will challenge and provide one another with feedback and hold each other accountable throughout the summer to accomplishing goals.

Summer Fellows will receive a summer stipend of $2,500 - $3,000.
Schedule
The NYC Men Teach Summer Fellowship is an eight (8)-week program beginning June 12, 2023 - August 11, 2023. Fellows are expected to be able to attend the full eight (8) weeks.
